An example of this would be your use of search engines which monitor and use your search history in order to personalize advertising based on your search and browser use. Again, you have the option to not have that information tracked or used. So simple put, your data is being shared and used for much more than you may be aware of and in ways you have never considered. The vast majority of which can actually benefit you as a consumer more than it can risk your data security. You need to make the choice on your own to allow or block usage when sharing any personal details for any purpose.
